-- we had our residency graduation banquet! Our program director always hosts a nice cocktail hour + dinner at a local country club which is attended by the residents and other other physicians in the clinic. This year we celebrated at Lochland Country Club in Hastings, Nebraska and had a fabulous evening. I even received my diploma - though it is dated for after I make-up time due to maternity leave. Travis was in McCook all week helping with an overnight church camp but was able to make it back. He was a huge help as Elle was high-maintenance that night (but she did fabulous in the car each way!). The banquet made graduation begin to feel real!
-- Elle was able to spend more time with Grandma Sandy as she stayed with us while T was out-of-town. We love having Grandma in our home! Besides cuddling our cute girl, we were able to accomplish some two-handed chores like making freezer meals and she was super helpful (necessary really!) as we drove to McCook for a brief appearance at camp. We were also able to get together with my cousin who lives nearby and her sweet baby boy during this visit. Elle's summer birthday has worked out perfectly with my Mom's work schedule. We would have missed out on most of these visits if she was born during the school year!
-- we continue to enjoy the fabulous weather and typically take a walk AND spend time on the porch swing daily. We did have a tornado warning with multiple tornados in the area yesterday but thankfully our town was spared. By the time Elle nursed our area was cleared and we were back upstairs.
-- we finally bought a dishwasher!! It won't be delivered for another two weeks but I'm ecstatic to not only have the convenience of not doing the dishes by hand but also having the counter-tops cleared from drying dishes! This will complete our kitchen appliances after it is installed! Plus, I've been stalking this model for many months and this price is $100 cheaper than any previous sale I've seen!
