HOI-- WEEK 31

- night w/ friends -
This week we..
-- continued the annual tradition of fondue & board games on NYE with the family! This year we tried a few different broth recipes for the steak and two different cheeses - everything was delicious! T and I are totally on board with the "staying in is the new going out" mantra...
-- enjoyed a chill weekend including time with "the group" from medical school! We grabbed takeout from our favorite Indian place (Mother India), swapped residency stories, and played a few board games. It was fun to have everyone back together! We later ditched the boys for a baby shower - so exciting!
-- escaped to the cabin for an afternoon bonfire and some time on the ATV. Except for one little incident when R got stranded.. and the other little incident where R tipped the ATV over with him & S on board.. it was a wonderful afternoon! But seriously, we had a blast pegging each other with snowballs and hanging by the fire. We're going to miss living so close to the cabin!

Two Thousand Eleven

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This year has been pretty epic for us. In 2011 we bought our townhouse, Krista graduated from UNL, we got marriedKrista started medical school, and Travis graduated from the University of Phoenix.

It is crazy to think that 7 months ago, our entire townhouse looked like this picture--->

Not too long ago, our only furniture in the living room was Krista's college futon. We have since made quite a few changes (painting most of the rooms, redesigning the kitchen, adding a fireplace/mantle/furniture/art to the living room, a real TV stand, some art and window treatments...)

We are looking forward to 2012 and all that it has to offer. It should be a year of fun challenges with Krista continuing medical school and Travis beginning to work on his MBA. (Did you know Travis is about to be a graduate student? while he continues to work full-time? he is the best!)

We are hoping to continue to work on balancing school/work/home while sustaining healthy habits like eating well and jogging. We would also like to make the blog more interactive, for example, encouraging you all to comment and maybe adding some short videos. We feel so blessed to have the fantastic, lovely, awesome marriage, family, and friends that we do.

Here is to making 2012 the best year yet! Because, the best is yet to come!
