This week..
— I remembered to write a blog post! Yay! Cal has been cracking us up with his expressive language. Most recently, he will scrunch up his face and whisper if he’s calling something little. He has a book of pictures of transportation options - he exclaims every time that the garbage truck is “stinky! food. diapers.” then the monorail is “see Mickey!”. He chimes in at the end of each phrase when singing the ABCs . Right now I’m rocking him to sleep and he’s telling me he wants “PIZZA!” When I repeat it back to ensure I heard him right, he has the cutest “yeahhh!”. I told him we can pizza for dinner tomorrow night and he immediately asked “ice cream?”. Ha. yes bud, we can have it with ice cream.
— Elle is getting nervous about Kindergarten. She’ll do great - she LOVES to learn about any subject. I took the kids to see some fire trucks and other vehicles parked for kids to explore and Elle wanted to stand and listen to the snake owner who brought their boa constrictor to show off. She was absolutely NOT going to touch it, but she went back to the stand 4 or 5 times. Neither kid sat in one rescue vehicle but I think it was still worthwhile. Elle thinks she can “swim” at the pool as she doggie paddles in her life vest from one side to the other. She has started recruiting Cal to disobey “No Cal! Don’t go to the car! Don’t listen to Mom!” Things are tricky for Elle right now as she tries to skip a nap to be ready for school but is then tired/grumpy/disobedient at the end of the night.
