This week..
— I’m going to work to get back in the habit of these posts! Last week Elle attended a birthday party that included a bounce house in a church gym- it was a welcomed way to get out some energy! We’ve had record low temperatures and more than 15 inches of snow this month - so we all have cabin fever!
— adding to the family’s annoyance level is Cal’s new found love for “Why?”. He is genuinely a curious kid but the final 30 “why’s” in a conversation seem to just be reflexive.
— despite the dangerous weather, Cal announced “I NEED MY BARBIE JEEP! I HAVE TO GO TO WORK!” We gave in and spent a few minutes driving the Barbie Jeep out on the ice.
— Elle is starting to learn her first gymnastics routine. She ran in the house after class *so excited* to show us.. but only remembered the first couple steps. Thankfully her teacher has it posted online so we can practice at home.
— Elle is learning about different Native American tribes and has spontaneously morphed into “teacher” every night at dinner since. She has a favorite worksheet from school that she whips out and starts explaining in her teacher voice and asking us questions.
— Elle has also announced that she “doesn’t like dresses” anymore after we just purchased another bunch in her size. It feels like just yesterday that she announced the opposite.. but she does love her new tennis shoes. Cal picked out some navy and white high top Nikes and Elle picked an all white pair with gold accents. She looks like she’s aged 5 years since she started Kindergarten!
