This week..
— Elle had a Christmas program at school. She followed the rules with exactness and knew every word/action. She and her best friend showed up in the same holiday dress which was a fun coincidence! Afterwards, Elle was too tired and hungry to even thank the family that attended. Her request was “chicken nuggets and a blue slushie from Old McDonalds” Brother was thrilled to have the same!
— Cal so desperately wants to be just like big sister. She is constantly asking/quizzing us about letters and spelling - so now Cal walks around repeating “A-C-A A-C-A” or will ask “what are those ABCs?” as he points to the title on a book. The Duck & Goose series and Little Blue Truck are his absolute favorite right now. Some nights, he will “read” them to me instead. He also likes to look at the back cover and point out the few he has.
— we drove out to Worms, NE to a families over-the-top Christmas light display. We brought hot chocolate and the kids wore matching Christmas PJs. They stuck their heads out the sun roof despite the frigid temperature. They loved pointing out each scene they recognized.
— Cal now speaks like a kid not a toddler. His questions are full sentences. He rode with Travis to his work and asked questions the entire commute. He continues to have a soft-spot for animals and often grabs for the characters in our books. He asks about his cousins’ dogs daily. But don’t let him fool you- he can swat at his sister and hold his own without issue! He is also very vocal at church - this week one “amen” wasn’t sufficient “Amen. Amen! AMEN!!”
