This week..
— we made a second trip to the state fair. T was at “Volleyball Day” in Lincoln so the rest of the family went back to “see the bikes!! See the horses!! Eat ice cream!!” We’ve had some HOT days but the evenings have been beautiful. Elle is always right at the boundary line to watch the BMX bikes but it’s Callum that has asked to rewatch the videos every night before bed. Speaking of bikes, Cal would love to have a “big bike like sissy” but he is doing really well with his 3-wheeled scooter. We can now take decent walks around the neighborhood and not battle to kids to stay in the stroller. We spend a lot of evenings out at the trampoline and we’ve added a bench to our outdoor furniture collection so there is seating nearby. The kids play nice together out there. Elle thinks she is teaching Cal tricks. Mostly she is just barking orders at him. Currently Elle is sitting still in a chair letting her rainbow nails dry and asking every minute “are they dry yet?!” We took off the trampoline and removed more dirt underneath because there were a couple spots where an adulting bouncing big could make contact with the dirt underneath. Cal was a trooper and was out there in the hole with us the whole morning! He used a mini snow shovel first and then a rake which he called a “broom”. He was possessive of his bucket so we had to introduce a third just so we could keep momentum going. Elle pretty quickly returned to the couch to watch kids do gymnastics on YouTube but Cal stayed out until the project was finished! He was a little less helpful as we had to mark all of our sprinkler heads before they aerate our yard this week. Poor kid couldn’t figure out how to avoid the spray!
