This summer..
-- has a theme where I have neglected to blog!  This stage of life feels like the busiest yet but it is filled with great things. 2 weeks ago, we surprised my grandma (and parents) when we simply walked up to my grandma's back porch in Pennsylvania. T and I decided about 1 month prior that we would attend the family reunion but we would keep our visit a surprise. It was so fun! Elle was also in on the surprise and we loved brainstorming ways to do the "gotcha" moment. But the best part was spending a long weekend together with family! We prioritized time at Nana's but also used the hotel pool and spent a day at their zoo. Cal got stung by a bee almost immediately upon entering "Owie! Bandaid! Bandaid! Owie!" But after a few minutes he was back to his normal self excited about all the animals. He enjoyed the aquarium "so many! so many!" and running from exhibit to exhibit after Elle. They both colored a photo which was scanned and added to the "fish tank" on the screen. Elle looked out for her little brother while they climbed the ropes and went down the slides in the play area. Cal yelled at the polar bear to jump into the water while we waited underneath his exhibit "come swim!! come swwwimmmm!". The kids were good sports on the plane. We had two short flights but this was Cal's first time in his own seat. He ended up spending the majority of the flight in Mom's arms but thankfully the flight attendants didn't mind. He announced to one plane as we landed "I'M POOPY!". He also yelled on the shuttle bus from the parking lot "No bus! No bus! No bus!". Now, when Cal winds down at night, he suggests we "pray for Gigi, Pap pap, and Nani". I grabbed a nostalgic video of the kids running to the end of my grandma's property just as I remember doing as a kid. We were all so so glad we made the trip happen! There's no one that models "enjoying life" better than my Grandma!

Krista
