This week..

-- Elle was especially excited about giving T his Father's Day gift. As we approached the weekend, she asked him if he wanted to open it early. He politely declined and Elle was disappointed. A few hours later, she brought it up again and stated "I shouldn't have given him a choice..". She picked out a "Super Dad" trophy as well as a table golf set. She continued to bring up her gift making sure Dad knew "Now 'arissa (T's coworker Marissa) can come play golf with you!". She's in major imagination mode. She is constantly playing Hotel front desk or convincing Cal to build some sort of set up or setting up for a mandatory party. She loves to be "in charge" and often is giving us a lecture on the rules of some imaginary activity that she is almost certainly creating on the spot.

-- Callum seems to have developed a real love for jumping.. in particular off furniture. He can climb onto the back of the couch or play slide and jump to the floor a hundred times before he tires. He no longer breastfeeds overnight after Mom convinced him that it no longer tastes good. We talked off and on about how "when he grows up, it would someday not taste good anymore.. just like Elle doesn't drink Mama's milk anymore..". Then one night, a little impulsively, there may have been some vinegar on a cotton ball and after he reacted to the initial taste, we circled back to the story and he was offered a glass of milk. He only had a cup with milk a few nights before we stopped that part of the routine too. His bedtime routine still takes a solid hour and he will still point to Mom's chest and make a "yuck" sound. He still wakes up once a night and crawls into our bed but we are very pleased at the flexibility this gives us in our evenings. I went on to deliver 4 baby boys in 3 consecutive days with bedtime being interrupted more than once - so this has been good timing!
