This week..

— feels like it was just “survive another round of sick kids”. This fall has been all snot and coughs in our house. They did get to visit Dad’s project as he helped remove a worn patio cover at Grandpa’s.

— Elle got to go back to Holdrege to her friends birthday party. They rented the movie theater and Elle and her friends sat front row. They each had a snack tray with a drink, popcorn, and full size box of candy. Surprisingly, I didn’t see any big spills! Elle and her two closest friends were some of the few who lasted the whole movie (Sing 2). One of her friends kept turning around to give me the play-by-play to the movie they had each seen a dozen times but were still enamored with. We have it in our car so I’ve heard the show a hundred times but never seen the animation. I was pleasantly surprised!

— Cal is missing being outside more. He partially understands that it is cold outside as he puts his hands against the door or window then shakes them (his recent gesture for cold). But he’ll brave the weather to run out for a quick errand like getting the mail and is not a fan of a winter coat. His reach is getting impressively tall. He will walk into the living room eating a piece of Halloween candy or carrying a remote that I know was left on a high countertop. He still makes his cute “woofs” whenever he sees a puppy (like in the photo above). He’s also been spotted with pretty cute dance moves. He is by far the person who dictates the mood of the rest of the house right now but even Elle will say “Cal! You’re adorable!” Sometimes she’ll also call him “bro-sky” because she heard dad say it once.

xo,

Krista
