This week…
— the kids got Gigi this weekend! Elle is really looking forward to Halloween tomorrow night. She made us all laugh when Cal was pulling down her blanket fort and she ask very seriously “is someone going to deal with this? Is someone going to handle this?” She had a music program at church today and she was brave enough to participate! I tried to play the songs before we went and Elle would listen but she was convinced that if she “sang, then the words wouldn’t stay in her heard. So she could only think them.” Unfortunately, her sleep cycle was off and she was up at 4:30a the day of the program so she was pretty mellow and yawned frequently throughout the performance. But she stayed in her spot, gave her attention to the conductor, and sang the word she knew nicely.
— Cal is very territorial and will defend his things from Elle. One that he is quick to defend is Mom’s lap. He will push, strike, or even head-but her to get her off of there. Sharing Mom’s lap is also not an acceptable option. Cal’s few words continue to be adorable - we’ve heard “hot” and “brrr” a lot this week as he navigates the fluctuating fall temperatures. So far, M&Ms and Sixlets are probably his favorite Halloween candys Smarties are high on the list but so far the kids haven’t been given them. Not sure what he will think about Trick or Treating!
