This week..
— I forgot to write a blog post on Sunday!
— Cal has become fiercely independent. He will gesture enthusiastically for something and then throw his hands in frustration when you hand it to him. You’ll think you grabbed the wrong object but he’ll do it again with the next item. In fact, he will only be satisfied once everything is sat down and HE reaches for it. This includes all bites at the table. Sometimes you can load a fork but even if 90 percent of the chili slips off on the way to his mouth, he will continue to do it himself. He has a nearly insatiable appetite and constantly has a snack in his hand as he runs around the house. He moved to the next room at daycare and it was only 1 sad day before he acted right at home.
— Elle attended her first parade! We paid $15 for our family to join the Halloween party at the park hosted by the local Children’s Museum. Elle wore her Cinderella dress with “mushroom hair!” aka a bun. We could barely fasten her car seat around the tulle. There were carnival games and then a parade of service vehicles/business trucks drove by blaring Halloween music and throwing candy. Elle stood patiently at the barrier and only picked up candy right in front of her she would turn around to Dad and quietly say “they skipped me” if someone on foot didn’t put a piece in her bag. She and Dad ended the night walking the trails in the woods where you looked for candy by flashlight.
