This week..
— I am NOT going to skip journaling via this blog! We have had a fabulous last few weeks and I am failing to reflect on how great it has been! We celebrated Easter by hosting T’s family on Saturday then my family on Sunday it was comical as T and I made space in beverage fridges for the 2 hams and all the ingredients. We hosted both a kids eggs hunt but also one for the adults with cash and scratch off tickets. Given the proximity, we also celebrated the kids birthdays. Elle has played at least daily with the Barbie ambulance (which is sometimes a moving truck or an RV). From their parents, Cal got a ball pit (which looks similar to a dog bed. We all laughed at T’s reaction when he saw it “so help me!” until he realized it was to be filled with plastic balls and not another living thing to care for lol). They also got a zip line and we hung a swing outside for Cal (though I think Elle has used it the most. That’s why Mom made sure she bought one that could hold either of them! Elle got an upgraded bicycle. She picked out the exact style - of course it is pink and purple. She rides well and today demanded we get some winter clothing for her Barbie’s because the doll in the front basket was cold in the wind.
— this week, these kids continue to grow!! Cal can’t be filled up as he eats nearly all table foods. Elle was super sweet Saturday when she proclaimed to me “we need to plan a party for Dad - because he’s the greatest Dad in the whole world so we need to celebrate him!” She was troubled that she wasn’t certain his favorite food (“I think cold pizza??”) so she was sneaky as she asked him. She wanted to change into a party dress, play some music “but not too loud so that everyone can still hear the announcements”. There was planning in the playroom about where hot foods vs cold foods should go. And Mom was in charge of ‘istractng Dad so Elle could clean the playroom. It was very sweet!
