Happy New Year!
This week..
-- we used the long-weekend to fine tune a few more projects around the house. What started with a new exterior door lock has turned in to (slowly) converting all the interior door knobs to match. We started some paint refreshes (including painting over the previous kid's heights on the closet wall) and most of the lightbulbs are now the same warmth. We continue to unbox and take trips to the cardboard recycling drop-off. All of the exterior lights are now working and the security system is totally activated (hopefully we're done with scheduling our lives around 4-hour service windows!).
-- we spent NYE at home and enjoyed wearing festive hats and running around with noisemakers at 9pm. Elle danced in front of her reflection in the windows while we listed to Nashville's primetime show.
-- Elle was a good sport about all of the errands we ran this week. We had many hardware store trips in particular. We did stop in a shoe store while we waited a couple more minutes for PetCo to open (Elle's reward for enduring Bed Bath and Beyond with me) and she was in absolute heaven. She ran up and down the aisles in aw of all the shoes - especially all the colorful/tie-dye varieties. She also danced enthusiastically in front of the mirror in each aisle which was the perfect height for her to see her reflection. Her biggest struggle this week has been deciding where to keep her toys. They are shuffled around the house almost daily as she rotates between the playroom, living, room, her bedroom, and the loft in her room. It sometimes brings her to tears as she "just can't decide!"
-- Callum is now a champion sitter. He is quick to grab anything in his radius so there have been more spills lately. He can also roll back and forth and squirm to get to most things on the floor. He struggles to get back to a seated position after he lays down but he is just about able. He has a bad habit of sleeping in our bed or arms since all of the recent travel and holidays - but secretly we aren't that upset about it. They'er only small once!

Krista
