This week..
-- almost has too much to document! It was the end of an era as K had her final clinic in Holdrege.. we hosted Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day.. we've accomplished what feels like "one-HUNDRED-THOUSAND" projects around the new house.. and we've had so much good quality time with family!
-- the kids got to celebrate Christmas with both of our families. They were absolutely thrilled to have all the time with their favorite people (and the gifts were fun too!). Our home had enough order that we were able to host both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and it was wonderful to start making memories in our new place! Elle has been singing the 12 days of Christmas.. except the numbers are jumbled and none of the gifts are understandable. Elle and her youngest cousin ran laps around the house playing tag and hide-and-go-seek until they were totally flushed and Elle changed in to shorts. We did have uncharacteristically warm weather so the kids shot Nerf guns in the backyard, ran out to the sandtrap behind our house, and shot the soccer ball. We served prime rib and smoked turkey (from Fritz's - our go to meals for the holiday since they require so little attention) with a few new recipes in the mix (this, this, and this). The holiday cookies were all store-bought and Cal continues to HATE the car so we had no formal Christmas light tours - but we laughed and laughed at the local playground as the grown boys planked on the spinning equipment. Elle's big gifts this season were a Disney Princess Doll House/Castle which we had her find via scavenger hunt, a make-believe store front with felt desserts, and 3 leather arches to climb on. Callum was gifted perfect toys for this stage and would have loved to have eaten some of the wrapping paper. Elle, at times, was more concerned about cleaning up the wrapping paper than opening the next gift. We were able to FaceTime with my siblings which always completes the day. Families are the best!

xo,
Krista
