This week..

-- we spent T's birthday at the new house (have we talked about how we are moving?) meeting with a contractor to refinish the hardwood floors and a designer to help us with furnishings. As you can imagine, will 2 little kids, there was a lot of distraction during the meetings. Our realtor walked Cal around in the stroller and Elle thought the current owner's furniture was an excellent playground. It was chaos but we got the work done.  Before this trip, Elle was still super hesitant about moving. I suggested we paint her bedroom her favorite color, purple, and she exclaimed "No! WHITE. Just like this house!" We have told her that one of the perks of this move is we will be so much closer to grandparents. She has since told me at least 5 times "I wish Gigi, Pap pap, and Grandma Vicki could just move here so we didn't have to move." This trip was good, because Elle had a blast in the house. Hopefully this is the beginning of many positive memories! We then had supper with T's family and Elle had a blast adding the sprinkles and candles to T's cake (well, frosted brownies as he requested). I had taken her to Target and let her pick out anything she wanted from the  party aisle so of course there was "A Rainbow Horse!" aka piñata. Elle refused to hit the piñata but she cheered on Dad. He did break the handle on the dandelion picker with the first hit. Elle wanted to collect the limbs of the piñata and bring it all home - totally on-brand for her. She is a collector of all "pretty things".

Krista
