 This week..

-- Elle is working hard on potty training. We are in full-on bribery mode (even though that is discouraged in the parenting books!). We've been successful a few days in a row so we're holding our breath this is the beginning of the end of pull ups for her. Our house is cluttered with boxes but we are starting to make some progress. Tomorrow (Monday) we close on selling this house and the following Monday we are set to close on our next house! Elle continues to be a bright spot in this busy time. We went to the coffee shop for "treats!" last week and she was overjoyed to find a small pile of leaves in the parking lot. She had previously tried to "jump in a pile of leaves" in our yard but the five scattered leaves "didn't work Mom!". Elle went down to the basement to play and instantly noticed that "her toys weren't where they were supposed to be!" She immediately found the box he had started packing and quickly unpacked everything. "But I'm not done playing with them yet!" So we are going to do some out-of-sight packing in the near future.. We are fortunate that we have some overlap between houses but it makes for awkward packing (aka trauma) for the toddler.

-- Cal has found his feet! He loves to lay on his back and rock side to side while chewing his toes. He is sitting in his highchair at the counter playing with toys and staring at the food we are eating.  He is wearing mostly 12 month clothes and is already doing a good job being the "annoying little brother". He is quick to grab hair and I often hear "Mom! Cal is kicking me! Mom! Tell Cal to stop looking at me. CALLUM!". He's a pretty good sport of her frequent requests to hold him and we haven't sustained any injuries yet :)
