This week..
-- the high school marching band and drum-line were practicing in the parking lot as we were walking by to play at the park. Elle demanded we stop to watch and she was completely fixated on them. When the drumline began to practice she insisted she get out of her stroller so she could dance. She told me she wants to play the cymbals (which we didn't actually see at the practice) when she gets bigger. She then got to spend Friday with Grandma instead of going to daycare and it sounds like she had a fantastic time. We celebrated Great Grandma's birthday this weekend where she chased around her favorite older cousin but now, unfortunately, she is under-the-weather with Hand Foot and Mouth. A few of her friends at daycare had it last week and we thought we got away without it. I said to Elle before bed "This is crummy" and she just nodded her head slowly.
-- Cal doesn't have any new developmental milestones to chat about but we continue to love every second we get to snuggle or smile with him. He's at that stage where he gets excited and his arms and legs burst in to super sonic speed. He continues to be incredibly social. He loved the attention at Great Grandma's birthday lunch and continues to be less-than-thrilled in the car. We are doing our best to keep him distanced from sister this weekend to try to avoid her virus but it breaks her heart to be away!
