HO2-- WEEK 9

This week's kitchen incident..
This week...
-- we had a few of my friends from work over for dinner! Of course, I volunteered T to grill us dinner on night when it was pouring rain. Whoops. Bad luck. But, there was a break in the rain and he made it work! We then tried to support the Children's Miracle Network by buying blizzards at DQ but  it turns out our location wasn't participating. Boo. But at least we enjoyed some ice cream!
-- we had a little incident with a leak in the ceiling of our kitchen/floor of our upstairs bathroom. I came home and heard an unusual sound coming from the kitchen.. when I walked in, there was a 1ft area of depressed ceiling with a steady stream of water onto the floor. A little more excitement than I expected! Thankfully it didn't burst and shower me with ceiling water like I half-expected it to.. Of course it happened while I was on-call so I was trying to trouble-shoot/clean it up before I got called back to the hospital! How many coats of paint do you think are on that ceiling to stretch like that?!
-- it was my turn to assist with the morning c-sections! I don't know if I've explained my general schedule for the next few years..? We each take "call" 1 weeknight per month and 1 Saturday. "Call" for our practice is any admissions to the hospital, answer outpatient calls, and any OB during that shift. In addition, us residents each take a week of morning "c-section call" where we assist with the scheduled sections. So this week, I started most days in the OR delivering babies! Then, I would head to my clinic, ER shift, or w/e. Gotta love family medicine and the variety we see in a typical day!

Krista
