-- celebrated the Fourth of July in our new city! My parents came to town -- the boys golfed, we spent time at the pool (almost entirely in the lazy river!), then we grilled at our house with a new pasta salad recipe and grilled corn dip. After my parents left we ventured down the street to watch the city fireworks and ended up in a little fender-bender - that was less-than-awesome. But overall we had a great fourth!

-- took advantage of a weekend off and drove to Fort Collins to visit some friends! We had an absolute blast catching up with them and meeting their newest little girl. The highlights of the trip were: breakfast at a historic cafe with the best cinnamon rolls, the boys playing a round of golf on a ritzy course, water games with a 2 & 4yo, 6-week-old baby snuggles, an evening rodeo in Estes Park, and church before we headed home! We are already planning our next trip back! Next week I head back to work and the "summer vacation" comes to an end. It sure was refreshing!
