We have fit in some fun since my hours were chill again this week. We...
- stuffed our faces at el Aguila (twice this week!)
- have watched a lot of basketball. We're excited to watch the Creighton game tonight with some friends!
- are fussing over the cute pictures of the newborns in the neighborhood :)
- watched the NCAA wrestling championship at my parents' house (Coldstone was involved!)
- keep dreaming about the future, in particular, T's career possibilities
- enjoy giggles with our friend's kiddos (especially in church!)
- are planning escapes to the cabin once this weather warms back up. T is already making an ammo shopping list...
School continues to be interesting and educational. (That may sound ridiculous - of course school is educational! But honestly, some days the work ends up being a lot of the same and your learning comes from the books. Just tellin' it like it is!) I spent the majority of this past week working in UNMC's Adult Crisis Unit but I also spent a few hours in clinic with both adult and teenage patients. The time in clinic was especially good experience because, in the future, that is the setting where I will work most often. Treating "oppositional" teenagers in clinic was also a really good experience because you have to decide where the line should be drawn between "defiant" and "normal teenager" behavior. That isn't always so clear.. Sure makes you think! Because our time spent in clinic is so minimal, I scheduled a month of outpatient psych for next year to get some additional training before residency (but hopefully I'll be in one of the accelerated programs and not using my fourth year schedule I created!). We can chat about what I scheduled for my fourth year after we find out Friday whether I'll be using the schedule or not. It's wild to think that by Friday I may know where I will be doing my residency training. Crazy! If I'm not selected (which is a serious possibility) at least we will have an answer instead of being in limbo. The programs are so fantastic that I'm thrilled that ten people from my class will be able to reap the benefits - although I keep hoping I'll be one of them!
T just let me know that the game is on at our house tonight.. time to go make some sweets! Your good thoughts/prayers/mojo are much appreciated this week as I have my second set of interviews on Tuesday. Have a good one!

Krista
PS- a post should never be without pictures! I raided T's iPhone for your entertainment..
1- T's co-worker's depiction of T's "inner fat guy" trying to claw out Wolverine style2- St. Patty's Day food as mentioned above - including rueben egg rolls
3- Dinner from the other night.. with what T believes are normal portions. He later proceeded to stuff about 10 pieces of sausage in his mouth when I glanced towards his plate after finishing mine.. Gotta love him!
4- Carne asada @ el Aguila - trip numero uno
5- I have no explanation.. T doesn't even do the grocery shopping! Maybe picture 1 is more realistic than I thought..
6- Mom, I took this picture of T in the suit you bought him for Christmas and totally forgot to send it. Good thing you read the blog ;)
