M2- WEEK FIFTEEN

HOUSE
Christmas came early for T and I when we noticed the prices on fitness equipment this Thanksgiving. We welcomed an elliptical machine into our home this week! Thankfully the assembly wasn't too bad.. but our basement does still smell like axel grease. For the most part, T and I work together very well because he jumps into the project and I read the instructions meticulously.

We love, love, love where we live but the one bummer is that we don't have an electrical outlet out front. We compromise with lighting our windows from indoors. This year, we changed them up. What can I say.. I am a classic white light kinda gal.

T and I made an awesome improvement to our home this week. It's something that we should have done ages ago. (And I was a bad blogger because I didn't take a before picture. Sorry!) Our office window had a set of mini blinds on it that had a section missing. Not too big of a deal.. except we usually leave the office door open.. which means that hole looks right down the hallway. So walking from the bathroom to the closet.. yeah.. you are completely on display to our parking lot. Thanks to some friends who had an extra set of blinds, we are now covered! It was one of those things that should have never worked: I brought home this random set of blinds, that are tan, made for an inside mount, made with measurements for my friend's home.. etc. And what do you know? They work awesome in our living which allowed us to move our living room blinds upstairs. And no, our two windows aren't the same size either. Total scramble- but it worked out!

FAMLY
Saturday we got to hang with some of our favorite people on the planet- my family! Dad and Gma were on reuben-making duty.. and they took their job very seriously. There is a right way to make a reuben. The second picture speaks for itself. Let's not talk about the game itself...

Other than that, T and I have been on a quest to simplify our lives. We are constantly trying to rid our house of clutter. We almost always have a donation pile stacked high somewhere in our home. Today we spent a few hours going through some of our storage areas and weeding out things we don't really need. As motivated as we are to downsize, not having much $$ makes some of these decisions very difficult! I'm sure there is always a reason to hang on to things, but we are doing our best to not get too attached.

How is Christmas shopping going for everyone? We have a few ideas we are super excited for (and over our budget- whoops!) but we are struggling for a few others. That's a pretty typical story, right? I hope you are finding some great deals! Have a great week!
