This week..
-- we spent at the beach! We had a family reunion in Sandbridge (Virginia Beach) and shared a beach house my Grandma generously rented. We ranged in age from 6 weeks to 92 years young! We were simply 1 property over from the beach access so we could easily walk back and forth. Elle was a great traveler - she slept the majority of her plane and car rides. She loved playing in the sand as well as the ocean and swimming pool. She even got jealous and joined us for poolside yoga. We had beautiful weather ranging from 75-95 degrees and sunny. We spent our evenings sitting down for dinner together and each taking a turn answering a question my Mom posed (ex: best meal you've ever eaten? something you're looking forward to this coming year?).  We had a fabulous time. This year did involve a little more gear and planning thanks to Elle - but we made it successfully through the airport and simply stopped at Target when we arrived for diapers, wipes, and a pack-n-play. It is such a treat to spend an un-interrupted week together as family!

Sandbridge Beach, Virginia

Sorry for the absence last week! I had every intention of writing a short post but totally spaced it once we arrived at our vacation in Sandbridge Beach! My grandma turned 90 this year and treated the whole family to a week at a beach house to celebrate! It's nearly impossible to summarize the trip in one short post but we had an amazing week. We are just getting back to Grand Island so I haven't even formally looked through our photos- but I'll post a few to give you a taste of the highlights of the trip:

Can you believe she is 90?!

Dear friends (who now live in Virginia) that we met at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk
Downtime was passed playing games...
(Hand & Foot Canasta, Avalon, Code Names, and Alien Frontiers were the favorites)

... porch-sitting ...

... and with lots of laughter!

The lovely lady who made it all happen!
