This week...

-- was my last week of maternity leave so we made it a fun one! Elle had her first trip to the swimming pool (she was pretty un-amused, but she didn't dislike the water or get sunburnt so we'll consider it a win!), we went on many daytime walks (including to church on Sunday!), and ate at 3 different food trucks in town (grinders, BBQ, and fish & chips!). We had our nanny spend another day with Elle to iron out any wrinkles (it went well!) and I spent the day in Kearney shopping and eating without having to rush! We also hung some shelves in Elle's room to display her books and they're super cheerful. I can't say we are totally ready for tomorrow but we've prepared as best we can!

Our Awesome Tent

This is our tent! It is a Coleman Instant Tent and and we got it as a generous wedding gift last year. Maybe you've seen these before and this is old news.. but just in case you haven't.. I wanted to share the awesomeness. What is so fantastic? This tent sets up in 60 seconds. And take down? 60 seconds. You can watch it in action here. My only warning-- where it has stickers saying "warning! pinch hazard!" it will pinch.. hard!

It is so nice having a tent that honestly only takes one minute to setup. Now we can head out to a campsite after T gets off work and not worry that it is getting late. Have you done any camping in this gorgeous weather lately? (and yes, I still plan on posting some pictures from our recent camping trips)

Summer 2012- Almost here!

Saturday we participated in our neighborhood's garage sale. I read Hunger Games while shoppers look through our things. The best part of the sale was the Goodwill Truck that came to pick up our leftovers. We didn't sell a ton ($100-$150 worth. So not much compared to what I just spent on review books. yay school.) but we cleared a lot out of our house! We love good excuses to de-clutter and simplify our lives!

Other than that, we have been dreaming of summer. I am dreaming of:

-- playing ping pong outside at my parent's house (pictures from summer 2009)

-- having time to clean our house-- like really clean: floors, baseboards, the whole-shebang

-- enjoying time with friends and family. Hopefully lots of dinner, games, movies, etc

-- cruising the Caribbean (we got our passports in the mail so we are all ready to go!)

-- doing some random house projects. Maybe painting the bathroom? Hanging drywall in the basement? New interior doors? 

-- getting caught up on picture organization or just document organization in general

-- spending sometime out in the sun! Pool side possibly?

-- playing with all the cute newborns our friends are due to have this summer!

But for now, we are headed to the cabin with my family to ride the four-wheeler, roast some hotdogs on the fire, and hopefully enjoy some of this:
