This week..
— I realized it’s been almost a month since I last blogged! Yikes! Life has been busy.. but not that busy! We celebrated Halloween by a trunk-or-treat at church and a very cold Halloween night where Cal didn’t even put on his costume but did enjoy handing out candy (except when there was an inflatable dinosaur at the door all of a sudden!) Elle loved her Cinderella costume (from last year!) and also got to wear it at gymnastics. She was not as enthusiastic of a trick-or-treater. She had a host of reasons to skip a house including “well that one just gave me three pieces so we can pass the next two”. We put black lights in our entry way and the kids enjoyed themselves.
— Cal is loving the spotlight. He makes exaggerated faces and movements just to get a laugh. His stories are fragmented but he can communicate pretty well. He is persistent if he whines that he wanted to do that *insert anything* by himself. We have undid many water bottle tops or even dumped ice cubes out of a glass on to the table so he could redo it.
— Elle loves to play teacher at home. She is typically correcting her imaginary students “nooooo.. try to sound it out again..” or asking Mom/Dad how you would pronounce a random set of letters. She counts down until gymnastics each week and spends her time at home rearranging her bulletin board in her room. She still typically packs her lunch unless there is some form of pizza on the school menu.
