This week..
- what I remember most is yet another viral illness that we passed around through most family members. It was enough of a bug that is shifted us to “just get through the week” mode.
- ended on a higher note when the kids got to attend a birthday party back in Holdrege. I was on OB call so T took them solo. Elle thought her new “picture day shoes” were especially pretty and they caused her to point her toes walking down the stairs. Cal loved being surrounded by a new set of toys.
- we had gorgeous fall weather. During the Husker game, I took the kids on a walk so T had a chance to actually watch some of it. We got a few houses down the street when Elle exclaimed “we are turning back! I need my own cup of Teddy Grahams! We will do a test run in the driveway to make sure I can ride one-handed!”
- Elle now often “has two questions”. She continually wants to “play pretend” and either wants to be a teacher or run a cafe. One of her animated movies had a moment where someone walked out and said her new favorite saying “Deal with it sweetheart!”. She has a bad habit of picking/ripping/biting her nails. Today in church, Cal took off his shoes and she noticed his long toenails. She loudly exclaimed “Cal! You better start biting your toenails!”.
- Cal has learned some sign language at daycare - which we didn’t really know until he was fiercely signing in the middle of the night. We don’t know if it is just his personality or due to his recurrent illnesses, but he is the ultimate clinger. Mom is definitely his favorite human and he can whine with the best of the dramatic kids. Cal has a new crush - on Elle’s Barbie hair mannequin. He will sit on her bathroom counter and take/replace her butterfly clips and then give her endless enthusiastic hugs where he throws his head back and smiles from ear to ear.
xo,
Krista
