(Stills taken from a quick video documenting the dinosaur story below..)

This week..

— Cal had his first ear infection. He is over the worst of it but I don’t think it will clear completely with this first antibiotic. He’s a trooper but we are ready to have our mellow toddler back. Other than being sick, he is having a blast this summer. We went to our local pool one evening after work and ate pizza poolside. He is such a fan of all of the above! T had some downtime in Kearney last Sunday so we took a picnic lunch and the kids had an absolute blast at the playgrounds and splash pads. Cal would run under a feature and if he got pummeled in the face, it didn’t slow him down at all.

— Elle has an incredible amount of creative energy. There are lots of “classes” where we are quickly instructed to learn a new dance or song or she explains the world to us. “Now class, can everyone see this? This says ‘Number 1Dad.’ Let’s take turns saying it”. She cracked us up at the playground this afternoon when she pretended to call Pap pap and wish him a Happy Fathers Day. She quickly explained there was an emergency at his house - there was a dinosaur there. She went on to “call pap pap back” and then yelled “pap pap is making turnip soup!”. Haha. On her favorite dinosaur show the triceratops likes to eat turnips. She’s a hoot!
