This week..

-- T and I have been married for 11 years! My mom kept the kids for an evening so we could enjoy a peaceful dinner and a movie. This, quite honestly, may be our first true date since Elle was born 4 years ago! We used daycare a few times in the evening for dinner with friends or for work events - but then th pandemic happened and we've never taken the effort to establish a babysitter. This was long-overdue!

-- our kids completely recovered from their COVID symptoms.. and then Callum got another cold. He is full of snot but no fevers or real worrisome symptoms. Last night, he struggled to stay asleep from his congestion so we had a lazy Sunday at home to keep our germs to ourself. Elle helped me clean out our gas grill (speaking of overdue things!) and we enjoyed the outdoors with a few walk/bikes/scooter adventures. Cal did well getting back to daycare, all things considered. He didn't regress all the way back to his day one tears but he still isn't thrilled about it. Elle continues to be totally ecstatic about "school". She is very insistent that this is no longer daycare for her.

-- Callum is most entertained if you let him switch the light switches on and off. He makes the cutest little squeals/exclamations at each push. We have a light switch in our bedroom that must control an outlet- but he is equally thrilled to push that switch even though the lighting doesn't change.

-- Elle continues to compose an original song of any/all of her thoughts while she dances around the living room. This week, she was very particular that we don't look at anything other than her. In fact, she quizzed me to make sure that I saw each and every move.  She did end up in tears on the floor of her closet one morning this week because "her dress (that she slept in after wearing it the day before) was just too beautiful to take off". A few times she gave herself a pep talk but then burst into tears again as she tried to take it off. This girl continues to be a lover of all things with multiple colors and patterns.
