This week..
-- Cal has mastered climbing up stairs and can scale them about as quick as we can. Gone are the days when you can plop him in the middle room and run quick to another space. He spends his days mumbling ma-ma-ma-ma and blowing his lips.
-- Elle soaks up everything she hears/learns "Mom! Moses mommy had to put him in a picnic basket and put him in the river to keep him safe!" and her debates are entering a new level of mischief "But MOMMMMMM, I need to bring the play kitchen down from my loft because my baby is so hungry and she's scared to drink her bottle because the garbage disposal is loud but i need to warm the bottle!" She will also prompt you "Mom, do you want to go check the laundry?" or a variety of other distractions if she needs you out of a space to do something somewhat naughty.
-- I got the kids loaded into the bike carrier right as the wind picked up and it started to drizzle. I just unwound the plastic cover over them and rode around for an hour in the rain -- I was already committed. Elle fed Cal cheerios when he would whine and every so often exclaim "Mom! Cal's sideways!" as he slipped/twisted in his seat belt reaching for a toy. We are loving living on the golf course and Elle has a cute plastic set of clubs now. We ordered some outdoor furniture (I selected the in-stock/quick-ship to narrow our choices) and we got plans from an online architect if we want to update the exterior of our home. So T and I have been walking the property on almost a daily basis looking at landscaping and dreaming about future summers here. Our talks are often interrupted by sister in the Barbie Jeep with her radio blaring as she tries to find something to tie the wheelbarrow cart to her car and Cal eating wood chips and scuffing the tops of his feet as he explores after tearing off his shoes.

Krista
