This week..
-- the kids had colds. Thankfully they were both short and sweet - nothing some children's motrin couldn't handle. We had some beautiful weather - so one evening we played hide-and-go-seek by hiding glow sticks around the backyard. We streamed music over a portable speaker and enjoyed the non-buggy, non-humid weather (that doesn't happen often around here!). Elle declared it the "best night ever!!". She is currently sparring with her Dad as she wants to rearrange her toys (again). She has a loft in her room and she would really like her kitchen set (and all the accessories that goes with it!) upstairs instead of in the playroom. She was explaining to him "What you do dad, is you put something in the spot, then you step back and look and it and see if it's beautiful!" Spoiler alert - she won and after we just put the kitchen her room she made Dad step back and fold his arms as she looked at it. Then she exclaimed "this is incredible!" She's now playing with baby dolls in that space and she has a baby "Facetiming with her sister because her sister is old and tall enough to have a phone".
-- Cal is the star of the show at church. No one in our immediate area were able to focus during Sunday School but he is just too darn cute and interactive. He had elderly women reaching under pews to get his slobbery animal bath toy all hour. You just can't help but smile and make faces back at him. He spends the very beginning of each day exploring all of the base cabinets in our bathroom and I forgot how cluttery this stage of exploration can be! You can see as you approach a room if he has been there recently!
