This week..
-- Elle continues to entertain us! Sometimes with intentional shows or made-up games "Mom! Dad! Boys stand on this side of the line of toys and girls stand on THIS side of the toys and let's think about what movie we would all like to watch!" she says as her left leg is popped and her right hand points to her head "thinking". We sat down for breakfast and she said "I'm gonna get down on this food! - that's what Pap pap would say!". She must have heard on a TV show someone sing Old MacDonald and she couldn't stop giggling about how they they claimed elephants were on the farm "Old MacDonald had a farm, e-i-e-i-o. And on his farm he had an... ELEPHANT! hahahahahahahhaha" She sang it probably 20 more times with the same volume of genuine giggles.
-- Cal is flying around the house crawling. He is also pretty coordinated at pulling to stand on the edge of furniture. He can instantly locate a phone or remote if it is within reach and is absolutely devastated if it's moved. He's eating some small pieces of real food but is still mostly milk and purees. His 4 teeth are prominent and he still has his snorty-squinty smile. It's pretty entertaining to watch him dash for Elle and send her running back to her room.
-- we spent the weekend in tiny-town Nebraska while I covered their ER/Clinic/Hospital for the weekend. Since Cal is still up multiple times a night looking for Mom, T brought the kids and VRBOed a local house so we could be together in my down time. We packed essentially like we were headed on a camping trip with a cooler full of meals and a container of kid entertainment. The kids have been great sports about it - in fact, Elle doesn't want to go home. She sleeps on the top bunk of a bunk bed and thinks it's the ultimate. We've watched an unhealthy amount of Netflix but other than a rogue electronic thermostat and having to shuffle between 1 vehicle, this has been pretty do-able.
