Announcing Our Latest Addition

Callum ‘Cal’ Michael Stoecker joined our family on Thursday, May 6th. We were thankful for a safe and uncomplicated delivery. My parents stayed with Elle at our house while we were at the hospital and then on Mother’s Day we were able to celebrate with both families! He looks extremely similar to Elle as a newborn except he weighed over a pound more at 7 pounds even (they were both induced at 37 weeks due to my high blood pressure). He has a shrill cry but we only hear it briefly before he eats. He is a snuggly, content baby otherwise. Elle is enamored - she wants to sit next to me while I nurse and has more questions than I thought possible “why did he make that noise? How does your body make the milk? Can he have just one gummy worm??”. She’ll make requests like “can his feet be on my lap right now?” and gets the giggles when she holds him (especially if his feet touch her). Our routine is a little goofy with her often getting down late for a nap so then late to bed. This has brought on some big emotions - but otherwise she is doing wonderfully with this transition. Thank you to everyone who helped her to celebrate with “big sister gifts” or belated birthday gifts - it helped her feel special too!
