My view of bedtime from the call-room at work |
This week..
-- we went ahead and purchased bicycles and a trailer for Elle to ride in! The final step in the process is to add a hitch to our SUV so we can take our new gear to trails in local communities. Elle rode a bicycle in circles around the store no less than 30 laps. She then found 2 women's tennis shoes on the showroom wall and proudly trotted around the store in her mismatched shoes. It's quite a look when her outfit is already pattern on pattern on pattern! Her mind amazes me - the other day she overhead our conversation on the car phone and afterwards asked "Why do both people say bye?" We talked about how's its is a polite way to signal that we're done talking. She had never heard two sides of a phone conversation! Then, the next day, I said "I'll see you soon" and T said "Bye" and Elle scolded me. She taught me that I should have said bye too. I worked a long shift this weekend so she spent most of her time with T. They came up to visit one night and Elle was easily entertained jumping over the dark stripes of tiles in the waiting area. She asked repeatedly "Is that the toy room?" as she walked by each closed door in the hospital. She especially loves her time with her dad and is incredibly sweet as she gives him "big squeezes" and states " I wuv you daddy".
