This week..
-- we had a quick-before-the-sun-sets trip to a local pumpkin patch with Elle's best friend. There is a lovely farm not far from us with fields of ALL types of pumpkins. You pickup a paper and measuring tape as you enter, bring your own shears, clip them off the vine, and pay at a drop box as you leave. We filled our trunk to the top with pumpkins and are loving the festive look on our front porch. They also had a lovely field of sunflowers but we ran out of daylight before snapping any pictures.
-- Elle has started to say okay "ah-tay!". "Elle, pick up that toy" "ah-tay daddy!". Half of the time she is only saying it as she knows it is the correct response even though she has no intention of doing the action. She has more imaginative play as she pulled my stethoscope out of my purse at church, laid her babydoll on the floor between the chairs, and spent 5-10 minutes having a full back and forth conversation with the doll. Her little inflection during those conversations is adorable. Last week Elle had to tag along to one of my work meetings until T was back in town from work. It's an evening meeting where dinner is served and Elle loved it. She ate more steak, potatoes, salad, and cheesecake than I did! Now she asks almost daily "Mama! More meeting? I come?". Ha. I wish I had her enthusiasm for meetings!

Krista
