This week..
-- we had beautiful weather. It felt more like fall than summer! We spent our evenings at the driving range, on long family walks, at the playground, and sitting around a fire table with friends to celebrate a birthday. Life is getting a little busier with more meetings as return-to-school approaches so this beautiful weather was especially welcomed. Our local church also reopened this weekend! Elle was a little squirmy and proudly sang her ABCs at one point but it honestly went better than I expected. Yesterday she walked up to me as I was eating a chocolate protein bar and asked with a little side eye and the cutest inflection, "mama, share me?". Try saying no to that! She is quick to exclaim she needs a bandaid within a few seconds of any toe stubbing or finger pinching. We're trying to learn that bandaids are for blood. She loves to point out when something matches "mama, (my) dress - match daddy!" when they were both wearing white. She also finds toys and snacks that have similar colors and points it out. She still walks over, puts her hand on your leg, and repeats "watch me!" before any new trick. Even if you're looking right at her without distractions, she still puts her hand on you and looks you right in the eye to ensure you're planning to keep watching. She had fun at the driving range but had the most fun crawling around in the golf cart and singing loudly the fragments of songs she knows.
xo,
Krista
