This week..
-- we spent Saturday at the local state park swimming in the lake. Elle would be content in the water all day! This time we brought her raft from last summer's beach trip which was perfect because it has a little cover for shade. She'll tolerate 1 layer of sunscreen but good luck getting her to slow down to apply a second! When we aren't outside, she is loving her new watercolor set and magic sand. It's so fun to understand her imagination as she makes "ice cream! for dada!" out of the sand. She helps water the yard most days and typically needs an entire change of clothes at the end. Thankfully, our plants have been tolerant of the hose drug across them repeatedly. The world is this girls playground! She is more than content walking along the neighbors retaining walls and picking up pinecones and reenacting what the bunny or bird or puppy just did ahead of her. She's my walking buddy and we often take an hour walk. Our goal is to walk a new street each time and so far we have achieved that goal.  Elle made us laugh as she was sitting on the couch doing a puzzle on her tablet when the toaster oven beeped because it was pre-heated and Elle said matter-of-factly "cookies" without breaking her concentration. For the record, it was warming for dinner not cookies but clearly we like to bake in this house!
