This week..
-- we spent nearly all our free-time outside. We removed sod to create flower beds at the front of our house and made many trips across the alley to visit Elle's friend's backyards. We have many more plants to acquire but at least the space is cleared! Our front landscaping is tricky as the scale of our house is deceiving (its much taller than you'd expect so plants look dinky) and we have gorgeous mature trees so it's east-facing but shaded. In fact, even our grass is thin in the front because of the shade from the trees. We've done lots of reading and I think we have a decent plan to start..
-- Elle loved all the time outdoor. Our neighbors hung a swing yesterday and Elle has already figured out how to climb in it without help and spent some time pushing another neighbor girl when it was her turn. These girls are going to have so much fun being neighbors! Elle continues to make us laugh like tonight when she teased Travis acting as a snake because she remembers I told her that he doesn't like snakes. She will also walk up to you and demand you "stand!" and then "dance!". She has moments when she is easily entertained like when she stalked the guy mowing our lawn - chasing him from window to window inside the house. She's fairly skilled at reciting animal sounds as well as most colors! We're working on counting but we're only as far as 2. Just in time as she has her second birthday in just a few weeks!
