HO3-- WEEK 34

This week..
-- we had journal club where we do something social with my co-residents. This month we met at a museum in a nearby town which has a planetarium and an IMax. We saw two planetarium shows and then a 3D movie about Henry Bates in the 1850's who spent 11 years in the Amazon and identified over 8,000 species. He is also credited with helping "prove" Darwin's hypothesis of Natural Selection. They were all great shows! Plus, our favorite local restaurant is near the museum so we were able to grab a delicious dinner first.
-- T and I finally synced our work schedules enough to carpool to Kearney together! So far, we've had to drive separate cars the 90-mile round-trip. It only took us 22 days of the month to make it happen. We celebrated with trying a new burger + milkshake place. It's definitely a place we will return to! T had a sensible burger while mine had bacon + hashbrowns + a fried egg. It was a little difficult to eat in public but delicious! And of course we split a milkshake (banana pudding if I remember correctly..)
-- T made a great start on the side-car crib! After deciding he needed a new miter saw and a hand-sander (we already own a Kreg Jig), he was able to make all of the cuts and has 2/3rds of the sides assembled! He has been a champ working out in the garage (which requires the garage door open due to the poor lighting!) where it can't be above 30 degrees. Hopefully he'll have a couple spring-like days in the future when he is doing the tedious sanding and painting!

Krista
