-- spent it working in the Endocrinology clinic as opposed to seeing the patients in the hospital. I enjoyed my time seeing how a clinic can efficiently manage diabetes, in particular, and provide good support to their patients. I'm close enough to my first "real job" to be on the lookout for tip/tricks I'd like to integrate someday...
-- enjoyed spending time with family as we celebrated T and my Dad's birthday! My contribution was my favorite strawberry salad and a new vanilla bean frozen custard that will probably be my mainstay for a while. You just can't go wrong with real vanilla beans! T and I have awesome families and are so glad that we get to see them as much as we do.

-- attended a diabetes conference on Friday. It was a great review of the evidence supporting each of treatment regimens as well as interventions to prevent/slow the disease. Someday I'll have to attend these for "continuing education credit" to maintain my license, but for now, it's purely because I'm interested.
-- have been trying really hard to think of a good couple's costume for T and I. We typically shy away from costume parties (because I'm often working -- last year I was delivering babies! -- or we are just too lazy/cheap to participate). But this year, instead of sitting outside with our neighbors passing out candy, we are planning to give it a go! Hopefully we will decide on something in time...

Krista
