SI-- WEEK TWENTY ONE

Big news from the past week?

First, Friday afternoon I interviewed in Grand Island where I will hopefully spend the last two years of my residency. Everyone there was great - I knew they would be, I loved it there last year. We had lunch at a local Chinese restaurant where they asked me a few questions about myself but mostly just answered all of my questions about the program. The interview was low-stress as there were no "what is your biggest strength/weakness" type questions. Everything they told me about the program sounded fabulous - call is 1 night/week. No Sundays or major holidays. Every resident who has wanted to do C-sections has left training with >100 (some other programs they only get around 30). I know from rotating there last year how friendly all the staff are and how willing they are to teach. So I'll be crossing my fingers until this is settled.. but we are both hoping that is where we will call home in 18 months!

[I jokingly took this selfie earlier this week and sent it to a friend via text - but it applies here too!]

The other fun thing is T and I celebrated 10 years since he first asked me out - 10 years ago yesterday to be exact. Can you believe that?! Our first date was at a movie theater (our mom's dropped us off). I was like 20 minutes early and had to nervously waste time when T strolled in *just* in time for the movie to start. It was a few more movies and a lot of football education before he officially asked me out. Look at how young we were!

We didn't do anything fun to celebrate - we're sorta boring like that. In fact, I spent all Saturday studying for my next board exam on Tuesday. T has this week off work to burn some PTO he hasn't used - so we will make up for the missed date nights post-test. I am so thankful that T took a chance on me 10 years ago and that he is still tolerating all of my crazy training. He is the best!

Have a fabulous week and a great Thanksgiving! I know T and I are both extremely grateful for all of the opportunities we've been given and all the luxuries we enjoy. But most of all, we are thankful for all the love we receive from our family and friends. Thanks!

xo,
Krista
