+ I am really enjoying my clinic. I'm not sure if I've shared much about it here but I have a clinic each week where I am the primary provider. So fun! I am still staffed by an attending physician - don't worry - they haven't cut me loose yet.. My clinic day changes each month but right now it is Thursday afternoons and I am always at Bellevue Medical Center which is a beautiful new hospital and clinic. My schedule is typically booked with a variety of patients: health care maintenance, acute visits, pre-op exams, etc. The upside to not having a regular set of patients (yet!) is that I can usually fit people in same day -- that makes for a lot of very pleasant, appreciative patients. Win for both of us! Our clinic is also staying busy with the whole CHI/BCBS drama! I suspect they will work things out but, until then, there are a lot of great patients with BCBS insurance that I enjoy caring for.

+ The VA kept me very busy last week working all 7 days with a 32 hour shift (7am-3pm) where I only snuck away to sleep for 1.5 hours. I've been playing "catch up" all week since that shift. My coworkers are awesome this month and we have a lot of fun despite the long hours. I was able to catch a long nap (too long!) this afternoon which actually made me late for my own birthday dinner! My Gma gifted me another year of my blog posts printed & bound - isn't that the best? I love my family :)
+ This weekend was also the city-wide conference for church with speakers Saturday night and Sunday morning. It was so good. Some of the men had a Saturday afternoon meeting before the night session, so I picked up a few pizzas (Buffalo chicken & BBQ chicken) from Toppers and we had a little parking-lot-picnic. We laid the pizza boxes open on the trunk of my car and checked football scores while we ate. One of those simple but classic moments with good friends.
+ The other shenanigans of this week has been dealing with possibly upgrading to the new iPhone 6 that just came out. T and I were in no rush to upgrade our phones but Verizon is running a deal right now where you get $200 when you trade in an old iPhone making the new phone no cost! The promotion is only through the end of the month but the new phone is back ordered.. T's phone also has a recalled button that needs fixed.. so this has been a bit of a logistical nightmare. We think we have it figured out but it's been one of those time-sucks that you don't anticipate..

+ This week we also had a "front row reunion" -- a dinner with my closest medical school friends (we all sat in the front row together if you didn't catch that..). This dinner was even more fun as we had a wedding to celebrate! As exciting as it is to have graduation day approaching, I have mixed feelings as it also means a mass scatter of all my classmates. Hopefully we will have many more dinners over the next 8 months to prepare! I also vow to stop forgetting to take pictures.. not cool. I do have one of the awesome cookie pizza T ordered mostly because I was impressed by it's size:
This week is another busy one where I'll work ~80 hours with a 30hr shift Wed-Thur. Just another week and a half at the VA before I move on to OB at BMC. T is a champ and is holding down the home front! Hopefully we can also sneak some time outdoors in this beautiful fall weather. Have a great week!
xo,
Krista
