M3-- WEEK FORTY SIX

This week was bittersweet as many of our friends graduated, packed up the moving vans, and headed on to their next destination. I should have taken a picture of our parking lot with 8+ Penske moving trucks parked all over the sidewalks and fire lanes! It was pretty impressive! We did snag one last bring-your-own-meat-and-a-side-to-share barbecue before the business set in! T and I took full advantage of one last chance to hang with the cute kiddos at the bbq:

Tonight we were able to spend time with my mom for her birthday! There is no better woman to celebrate than my mama! We started with a feast on the grill:

 Played some serious ping-pong:
Cleaned up dinner:
I had to include this picture because it happens at every family event.
T is the best about hopping up and diving into the dishes!
Then after dinner I learned a new sport - pickle ball! It was way fun! What better activity than one that is fun, inexpensive, lets you spend time outdoors, and gets you moving? The wind was a little gusty but it was otherwise perfect! I sort of enjoyed an excuse when I hit a bad shot :)

This was a great weekend to have some "normal life" before I get busy with school again. These next 6 weeks will be pretty intense for me as I will now be on "inpatient". I will be out of the clinic and spending my days taking care of our hospitalized patients. This means longer hours including overnight calls. These busy weeks will also lead right into my examinations which I'm sure I will whine talk about again later.

One last thing I want to document -- T has been cooking most of our dinners lately.. because we spoiled our selves with a new grill!

We love this grill because the center of the grate removes and you can insert a few different cooking pieces such as a wok or pizza stone. We love the variety of vegetables we are able to cook on the grill - and it's so simple! Last night, we put peppers and onions in the center and seasoned chicken breasts around the sides to make fajitas! It keeps our house cool (which is essential as our A/C is once again out-of-commission) and it gives us a reason to spend more time outdoors. We're in love :) Tasty, healthy, quick meals are what keep me going during this busy period!

If you have a chance this week, spend some time outside of recycled air and fluorescent lights for me - I'd appreciate it!

xo,
Krista
