M3-- WEEK TWENTY THREE

Last week, as I said at the end of my post, we put up our Christmas tree!

(surprise to us! it twinkles!)

Too bad it sat undecorated... until tonight! T helped me hanging the gold ornaments and keeping with our tradition, he was the one to put the angel on top. (We're trying it in the corner this year..)

T  took a trip this week! T, his mom, Grams, and Grandpa traveled to Texas to visit family for a few days. Unfortunately, since I am unable to take any time off, I wasn't able to go with. From what I heard, they spent a day in Galveston, saw an old friend, worked on a project, and ate good food!

They were watching the radar throughout the week, and ended up leaving to drive home a day early due to the snow that was coming in:

Even with the early leave, the 12 hour drive turned into 17 due to the ice in Dallas. Not so fun... Thankfully, they made it home safely!

While T was away,  I made the best of it! I..
+ set the thermastat as high as I wanted
+ ate fishsticks! yum! (T isn't a fan..)
+ turned on all the lights in the house as I got ready in the morning
+ slept in the middle of the bed! (I actually like "my side" the best)
+ had lazy nights where I ate cereal for dinner
+ wore T's black dress socks to work when mine were all dirty
+ babysat a cute little toddler
+ went shopping with my mom! (more on that in a later post.. we've started working in the office!)

Sneek peek! (with cold toes!)

As fun as those things are, I am sure glad he is home again! Being home with him is my favorite part of each day :)

And finally, a school update..

For the last two weeks, I worked with the general pediatricians in the Children's clinic on UNMC's campus. I love outpatient pediatrics. I can't wait to see what "my clinic" will look like someday! I had a great time doing the variety of things general pediatricians do: sick visits, health care maintenance, mental health visits, hospital follow-ups, weight checks - the whole works! I'm glad that I was assigned that clinic because the pediatric residents in town rotate through it so I was able to see what my life may look like in a few years.  I finish up this rotation doing allergy and immunology for the next couple weeks.

Stay safe in the snow!

xo,
Krista
