M3-- WEEK TWENTY FIVE

IT'S CHRISTMAS BREAK!

I was seated just about long enough to take this picture until (predictably) I was at Home Depot and starting a project (all within hours of my last exam). If this post feels discombobulated.. we will blame all the paint-fumes that are trapped in our house. Using oil based paint indoors in the middle of winter may not have been the best choice..

T and I started celebrating the holidays early this week with a double date to Jams with some of our favorite friends. After dinner, we drove to West Omaha to look at Christmas lights. We finished the night with hot chocolate and chatter at our place.
S's instragram post of the lights
Saturday we spent the majority of the day with the men of my family tearing down a covered-porch and clearing some land. As you can see from the pictures, the structure didn't hold up over the years... It was long abandoned but we have big plans for a facelift/rebuild! This was totally my kind of project - hands-on, DIY, blank-slate sorta thing. It was cold, but the fire was huge so it kept us warm. I have no "after" pictures because my phone randomly died.. but pictures/videos do exist of the boys taking swings at the studs to bring entire walls down :)

T and I then had an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party with some of my besties from medical school! I have exactly zero pictures and there are none on facebook (yet).. so you'll just have to imagine T and I in festive sweaters :) I have a new go-to holiday treat for parties - clementine slices dipped in dark chocolate sprinkled with sea salt. You don't have to feel guilty for eating a whole handful because it's fresh fruit! And it's quick to prepare! It allowed T and I to grab a nap after all that work..

The last highlight of the weekend was our first family Christmas celebration of the season! We spent the day in Lincoln with T's family and Santa!
the kids were beyond excited to see santa / J tried to sneak into his sack when santa wasn't looking
Of course, the wrapping becomes the best of the toys
opening grandpa's gifts / T assembling toys / T playing with the toys
an afternoon snooze / the delicious spread / little tyke grill
Now you'll have to excuse me so I can address our Christmas cards! We don't send out very many.. but I still can't seem to get them created/mailed on time.. I'll post them on the blog soon! I also need to start & finish our Christmas shopping tomorrow.. wish me luck!

xo,
Krista
