M3-- WEEK FIVE

Between our 2 week rotations for surgery we have the weekend "off" and its fabulous!

First to-do of the weekend: turn your alarm back about 5 hours.

Second to-do: eat normal meals at normal times.

Third to-do: study, study, study and learn everything you haven't had time to learn while you've been running around the hospital all-day everyday.

I do have a confession.. I went to the hospital to visit a patient on my day off. This past rotation I pre-rounded on the patients that I was involved in their operation (pre-rounding = visiting/examining the patient in the morning before we come by with the whole team at 0600). So, with this particular patient, I was the first person from the care-team to check-in on them (and wake them up!) every morning for the 8 days they were admitted. When I visited Saturday, I was given this:

It's my first thank you note from a patient & their family :) I put it next to my desk for some motivation when I'm study after long days at the hospital. It's about time to start getting serious about studying because my exams are at the end of the month.. so hopefully the visual reminder will help in the sleepy minutes.

The highlight of my weekend was lunch with my number one blog reader! I ran a contest last month for my biggest fan......

Totally kidding.

But not about the biggest fan part. I know I have a few family members that are devoted blog readers, but Gma wins the prize! Gma and I ate lunch from Ingredient while we chatted about everything from Steve Jobs to healthcare to religion.. And everything in between. I don't get to steal 1:1 time with Gma much anymore, so Saturday was a total treat. My only regret was I didn't take a picture! Blog fail!

Finally, I'll leave you with a few pictures T sent me from his family reunion in Chadron, NE this weekend:

Have a great week!

xo,
Krista
