M2- WEEK TWENTY FOUR

We had an awesome week- we hope you did too! In school we started the psychiatry core and the studying has been much lighter for me (there is a lot less hard science which, for me, means I can memorize it much quicker). So, we spent a lot of time with friends this week! We have the most amazing friends ever. One bonus- a lot of them are also professional students so they aren't upset when we don't see each other for months.. they totally get it. Second bonus- they aren't frustrated with our super last-minute planning. We definitely value this time in our life while it is just the two of us and we can just pick up and go at any time! But here are the highlights from the week:

+ Monday night dinner and games at a friend's home
+ Friday night Goodnight's Pizza - UNO Hockey Game - Roja for dessert
+ Saturday trip to the zoo (brrrr!)
+ Today Super Bowl party at our friend's home

It is super refreshing to have a few minutes to breathe instead of just study, study, study! UNMC had a student discount for hockey tickets so we were able to see the game for $40 instead of $130-something that it would cost regularly for four adults. Perks of being a student! I'm frustrated that I didn't take more pictures this week! This is pretty typical- I remember to shoot pictures of the little ones but totally neglect the adults. Whoops. We are going to get through medical school and have like 3 pictures of us during these four years. Things to work on.. right?

Looking forward- this coming week is full of psychiatry lectures, lunch meetings, and a test Saturday morning. I can't believe it is already February! We had a meeting about planning the order of our third year clinical rotations this week. CRAZY. 6 months from now I will be done with boards and on to the floors. so. much. fun.

  1. How exciting to be in medical school! I just finished law school, and you couldn't drag me back into another grad program for anything...but medicine has always been such a fascination. Have you read The Emperor of All Maladies? It's so, so great.

    1. Congrats on finishing law school! It must feel nice to be done. I haven't read The Emperor of All Maladies- thanks for the suggestion. And thanks for stopping by!
