This Saturday marked the end of anatomy. For me, that brings mixed feelings. Anatomy was hard, a real test in endurance, but it was active and social. This next class is mostly biochemistry and histology which means four hours of lecture each morning. No frills. No fireworks. But don't you worry, I'll pack tasty snacks.

A favorite snack in our house |
I also sent the following measurements to an online company. Can you figure out what it is??
|
The captions may give it away... |
Yes! That is a diagram of our kitchen backsplash. One of my favorite ways to waste time is to read blogs:
It all started with the wedding blogs:
What does this have to do with our kitchen backsplash? Well, I found a company that makes fantastic stainless steel tiles through a blog. As of right now, the company only sells locally... in Ohio. I signed up for their emails so maybe a picture could serve as inspiration.
The next day, the company emailed me asking if I would be willing to take before/after pictures of my kitchen if they sent me a free backsplash. Seriously?! YES! So, as you read this, our new (free!!) backsplash is in the mail!
As for other house changes..
- we bought a rug for the living room:
|
Bought with gift cards from our wedding :) |
- and gutted an old stereo that will become our new tv stand
|
All made possible thanks to my parent's van and Ryan's muscles |
|
All in one! TV, radio, and record player! |
|
The innards we had to remove |
|
The bulk of the TV ... and Travis' "quick! it's heavy!" face |
|
The rest of the innards |
|
It's empty now |
I am thankful for a willing husband who has faith in my projects! Hopefully this $20 will be money well spent. Travis plans to sand and stain it dark sometime later this week, maybe? Wanna know the best part? Travis' mini fridge, that has been our TV stand up to this point, should fit right where the TV used to be :)
Have a great week ya'll! I'll be back next Sunday to report on the new class.
