This week..

-- ended with a fabulous trip to Omaha! I'm convinced the only thing better than the joy of a sweet baby is sharing that joy with those you love! We were able to spend a few days with my parents & brother as well as a not-long-enough visit with Great-Gma, Great Aunt & Uncle! The trip was a nice balance of "work" and play. My brother snapped pictures of our family (including the one in this post!) while Grandma and Grandpa danced around to make Elle smile. We also made it to Nebraska Furniture Mart to pick out living room furniture and a new TV! The bonus of this trip was spending an evening with friends from Dallas who happened to be also spending their weekend in Omaha. Like I said -- it was a great weekend of good people, good food, and good fun!

HO2-- WEEK 42

Last minute mini-getaway to Omaha!

This week...

-- we had a lot of fun: met one friend's new baby, saw another friend's new home, and spent a night in our new place! We impulsively decided Friday night to "camp out" in our home.  I think we left Grand Island at like 9pm (putting us at our new house after 10pm) and brought an air mattress to sleep on. We fired up the water heater for the first time(which was unnecessarily tricky for us rookies) and put the soaker tub to use! We may have been woken up at sunrise since the master bedroom's generous windows face east.. but we just used that as an excuse to pick up a breakfast pizza! We're still totally infatuated..
-- we had tickets to see Jersey Boy's in Omaha! At the last minute we decided to rent a hotel room across the street and turned it in to a little getaway! We had two basketball games we wanted to watch (Creighton in the Big East Championship and Papillion-La Vista in the State Championship) so we ordered room service from a nearby steakhouse (caesar salad + filet mignon with bordelaise + mashed horseradish & garlic potatoes + key lime pie- YUM) and watched the games in our room. (Unfortunately neither ended well..) Walking across the street to the show was super convenient. Not only was the show fabulous, but the crowd was generous/high-energy making it even more fun. T and I officially decided we've seen more musicals together on cruise ships than we have in theatres on land -- so many, that T had a few phantom "boat is moving" sensations on our walk back to our hotel room lol.
