HO2-- WEEK 2

hospital bathroom cellphone selfie of the "pager belt" I wear overnight!
This week...
-- I'm on a stretch of 14 days of work (then an entire weekend off! amazing!) so T is keeping busy in Grand Island building shelves in our garage (a garage! I can't wait!) and I've been spending all but 3 waking hours a day at work! I'm enjoying ICU medicine because of the procedures and the medications that have instant results - instead of prescribing a medication for someone's high blood pressure and asking them to come back to the office in 4 weeks, I get to start a potent medication and titrate it real-time to the exact pressure I want. It's refreshing to have so much control and not have to convince patient's to be adherent to their prescriptions, etc. The majority of my patients this week are neuro patients  (strokes, infections, tumors, & seizures) so it's busy & emotionally challenging but it's been a great rotation so far. In a few days I'll switch teams and take care of a different set of ICU patients - we'll see how it compares!
-- my fun of the week is watching the Tony Awards tonight and dreaming about our upcoming trip to NYC! Think I can find some Hamilton tickets? Ha! My list of "wish to see" musicals is now obnoxiously long. Nothing beats a live show!

Krista
