M3-- WEEK THREE

[Post written by T and edited by K]

We have officially upgraded our wheels!

You are looking at a 2004 Cadillac CTS that was just recently added to our little family. We followed in our grandfathers' foot steps and picked a Cadillac. We both knew the second we saw it online that we just had to have it.

Warning! The Chevy Lumina in this picture appears much better than it does in real life!
My first car (rest its soul) has been around for a very long time, 20 years to be exact. We have been through a lot together and it is going to be a sad day when she finally has to go. She has been driven over 247,000 miles, been stuck in the sand at the beach, and has blown two tires on the interstate going over 80 mph. She has a beautiful racing stripe down the passenger side from a run in with a guard rail. One of her most stylish features and the one I will probably miss the most is she has a hitch so I can pull a trailer.  What kind of car these days do you see that will pull your four wheeler around AND get you to the prom? I am gonna miss her a lot!

Here are some of her quirks:
+ Every winter I am not allowed to lock the doors, oh boy she does not like that! The locks freeze immediately and I can not get back in my car. (I once used a space heater connected to Christmas lights to break into my frozen car at work.)
+ I have broken multiple door handles in my day (the passenger door does not currently open from the outside)
+ The hood can only be accessed by using pliers.
+ When the car is running and I needed something out of the trunk I just pull the keys out of the ignition and with the car still running go and unlock the trunk and get what I need. Sometimes I forget to put the keys back in the ingnition before starting to drive again and in the beginning it would freak me out when I looked down and my keys were stilling sitting in my lap. She definitely has talent that is for sure.

What great memories her and I have made over the years! I am lucky to have her in my life and thankful that my grandpa bought her at auction for me. I am still trying to convince Krista that we need to keep her around...
