This week's activities:
+ A day of training for my job followed by a night of catching up with friends/spouses from medical school
+ Delicious (also healthy and fresh!) lunch with a best friend from school
+ Work organizing a health program med students will present at local elementary schools this Spring
+ Hosting my family for dinner at our place (see picture above)
+ Resting and reviewing because I am "the expert" from 5am-5pm these next two weeks (yikes!)
+ Dad teaching me how to use my pager for work (thanks Dad!)
+ As much time as possible spent my Grandma from Pittsburgh: lunches, dinners, games, Olympics and lots of laughter
+ Laughing, laughing, laughing and eating, eating, eating
+ Luggage drama and shopping for a free outfit and lipstick thanks to Delta Airlines
+ Grandma checking the ketchup bottles- looking for Heinz like a true Pittsburgh-er
+ Piling on various couches together to watch the olympics
+ Grandma being (surprisingly) good at bean-bag toss
+ Dad picking on Grandma at every opportunity -- and her dishing it back
+ Grandma's homemade macaroni and potato salad
+ Dad's impression of a cicada while sitting outside in the most gorgeous weather
+ Showing Grandma where I spend most of my time (Sorrell Center @ UNMC)
And just real quick.. did you really think I went a week without altering my home? Of course not! I put a fresh coat of paint on my office bifold doors and spontaneously tore out the half-wall in our basement.
See... it was super ugly |
